Scuba trips • gear deals • questionable decisions

Dive More. Spend Less. Come Home With Better Stories.

At first, you’re like, “Why hunt for deals? We’ve got cash, baby!” Then it hits you... if we spend less, we can DIVE MORE.

Welcome to Dive More Spend Less... where we hunt down affordable scuba diving trips, scuba gear we actually use, and deals that leave enough money for the next dive. Because the only thing tighter than your wetsuit should be your wallet.

We Spend Money on Scuba Gear So You Don’t Have To

We’ve bought a lot of scuba gear. Some was great. Some probably seemed like a good idea at the time.

Here you’ll find scuba gear we actually use, cheap gadgets that work surprisingly well, and dive trips we think are worth the money. Every dollar we save is money we can blow on the next dive.

Some links are affiliate links. If we make a few pennies, thanks. The slightly leaky dinghy isn’t going to patch itself.

This is what we mean by a dive deal

Half-Price Liveaboards Get Our Attention

We watch for the kind of scuba travel specials that make you stop scrolling and start checking airfare. Explorer Ventures is running one of those right now... 50% off or more on select 2026 and 2027 liveaboard departures.

We’ve been on the Caribbean Explorer II twice, so this isn’t a random boat we found in an email. We know the company, we know the boat, and we’d travel with them again.

One current example: Saba & St. Kitts aboard Caribbean Explorer II for $1,299 per person.

50% OFF or MORE
  • Saba & St. Kitts: Caribbean Explorer II... $1,299 pp
  • Maldives: Emperor Explorer II... from $1,781 pp for couples
  • Select 2026 & 2027 departures
  • Booking closes Sept. 2 at 6 PM EDT

Prices and availability can disappear faster than a dive buddy who hears “free Nitrox.” Always confirm the current fare and terms before booking.

A 2027 deal we may actually book ourselves

Belize Aggressor III... 10 Nights

Deluxe $3,795 pp
Pay 7 nights... get 3 nights free.

This is the one we’re looking at pretty hard ourselves. Ten nights of diving beats seven nights of diving for one very scientific reason... three more nights of diving.

Dates
Sep 11–21, 2027
Embarkation
Belize City
Itinerary
Lighthouse Reef, Half Moon Cay & Turneffe Reef
Cabins
Deluxe $3,795 pp
Master $5,622 pp, if available

There is only one Master cabin and it is a very different price. We’re showing it because somebody may want it... but the Deluxe cabin is the deal that got our attention.

Please protect the trip. Deeply discounted liveaboard fares can become non-refundable under the applicable cancellation terms. We strongly recommend travel insurance with trip cancellation/interruption coverage, plus appropriate dive accident and medical coverage. Insurance is boring right up until the day it suddenly isn’t.

No payment or credit-card information is collected here. We’ll confirm the current special, cabin availability and total price before anything is booked.

Other stupid-good deals

Red Sea Aggressor... Starting at $999

Roatán Is Next

We’re working on another Roatán scuba trip, targeting late March or April. We don’t have the resort, dates or price nailed down yet.

Which is travel-agent speak for... we know we’re going. We just don’t know what we’re selling yet.

You Want Scuba Gear That Works

Masks, BCDs, lights, wetsuits and those cheap little accessories nobody tells you about. If we own it, use it or think it’s unusually useful for the money, it may end up here.

You Like Stupid-Good Dive Deals

We keep an eye on dive resorts, liveaboards and scuba travel specials. We can’t go everywhere... apparently there are bills and responsibilities... but we can still tell you when we spot a bargain.

Cheap Is Good. Breathing Is Better.

Good Diving Comes First

A cheap dive trip with lousy diving is just an expensive way to sit near an ocean. We want good reefs, good operators and something worth putting in the dive log.

We’ll Save Money... Within Reason

We love a bargain. But regulators, competent dive operators and things keeping us alive underwater are poor places to begin an extreme couponing career.

Fancy Doesn’t Always Win

Sometimes the $10 gadget works beautifully. Sometimes the expensive thing earns every penny. We’re interested in what works... not who had the prettiest ad.

We’re Hugh and Judy... And Yes, We Actually Dive

We’re longtime divers who have spent years traveling, diving, buying gear, replacing gear, packing too much gear and occasionally wondering why one tiny piece of scuba equipment costs $89.95.

This site is our first-hand take on scuba travel, group dive trips and scuba gear deals. We’re not trying to own every piece of equipment ever made. We’re trying to help you spend money where it matters... and keep enough left over to get wet again.
